When Fuller got the bag, he handed it to Kevin but realized he was not there. Fuller passed the bag back and it eventually got to Peter and he realized Kevin was missing.
Home Alone was the number-one film at the box office for 12 consecutive weeks, from its release weekend of November 16–18, 1990 through the weekend of February 1–3, 1991. It was removed from the top spot when Sleeping with the Enemy opened with $13 million. It remained in the top ten until the weekend of April 26, well past Easter weekend. It made two more appearances in the top ten (the weekend of May 31 – June 2 and the weekend of June 14–16) before finally falling out of the top ten. After over nine months into its run, the film had earned 16x its debut weekend and ended up making a final gross of $285,761,243, the top-grossing film of its year in North America.

On September 15, 2020, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and 20th Century Studios Home Entertainment released Home Alone on Ultra HD Blu-ray in time for its 30th anniversary in the United States. John Candy was available for only one day to film his scenes, which took 23 hours to shoot. He was only paid $414, since he did the film as a favor to Hughes. I guess since it worked for Joe Peschi, it should work for him. It is the first film in the loosely connected Home Alone series, not to include a setting in Chicago. Marv, played by French Stuart this time around, has a new partner, Vera, who isn't any brighter than Marv. They decided to cancel the Harry character, originally played by Joe Pesci, even though they do reference him a few times. His father lives in a huge smart house mansion with his girlfriend Natalie and Kevin stays over for Christmas. Home Alone 4 makes a failed attempt of returning to the Kevin McCallister storyline, but they were better off using new characters. As Peter, Kate, Buzz, and Megan arrive, Kevin — with Buzz and Megan's help — prevents a final escape attempt from Marv and Vera.
Production
A sixth film was released digitally on Disney+ on November 12, 2021, titled Home Sweet Home Alone. Devin Ratray, who played Buzz McCallister in the first two films, reprised his role in the film. On December 19, 2018, Culkin would once again reprise his role as an adult Kevin McCallister in a 60-second advertisement for Google Assistant, titled Home Alone Again.
10-year-old Finn Baxter and his older sister Alexis are technophiles who isolate themselves from their parents Curtis and Catherine and the outside world. Finn is often playing video games and Alexis is often on her phone and computer. Encouraged by his dad to socialize, Finn befriends his neighbor Mason who informs him about the legend of a smothered gangster whose ghost haunts the Baxters' new home, leaving Finn paranoid. Taking matters into his own hands, Kevin sets up booby traps for Marv and Vera. The next morning, the duo head to the house after Peter and Natalie go to pick up the royals. Kevin tricks and locks Mr. Prescott in the basement, but eventually discovers Marv and Vera's real ally is Molly, who is also Marv's mother.
After failing to get Mr. Prescott's attention via the intercom, he drives them away by flooding the mansion. When Peter and Natalie return, they refuse to believe Kevin's explanation, especially since Mr. Prescott claims to have seen nothing. Kevin discovers that the security cameras were turned off during the break-in, leading him to believe that Mr. Prescott is in league with Marv and Vera. To cheer themselves up, Kevin, Peter, and Natalie decorate their Christmas tree, although it is later re-trimmed by professional decorators at Natalie's request.
By her own admission, the woman was “totally shocked.” Now the little girl would have to stay at her home until time bedtime when her parents returned. However, as the day turned into evening, the poster offered to walk the young lady home soon. She needed to get her own daughter prepared for school the next day. Despite having never met the child’s parents, the woman agreed. She reasoned that the girl lived just two blocks away and thought nothing of the request initially. One woman was astonished to find that there are parents out there who don’t supervise and protect their kids as they should.
